Sindhi American Political Action Committee support Representative Dan Burton

Washington, DC- Representatives of the Sindhi American Political Action Committee were pleased to support Representative Dan Burton (R-IN) at a campaign fundraiser held July 22, 2010 in Washington, DC. Congressman Burton serves as a ranking member on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs’ Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia and is Co-Chairman of the Pakistan Caucus, where he has consistently acted as a stalwart for human rights.

The Congressman will serve as a Guest of Honor during SAPAC’s Second Annual Banquet Dinner taking place this September in D.C. SAPAC is honored to be working alongside Congressman Burton for an improved US-PK policy acknowledging the immediate needs of the Sindhi people.

    The Flood has affected millions of people of Sindh including a large number of Children, who have lost their Schools and education system. Thousands of families have lost their houses and other properties, while the infrastructure has been demaged badely.In this connection, ADA SAEEN is working for providing supplementary reading material to flood affected children in Hyderabad, as the education gape between rescue, relief and rehabilitition of flood affected children should be coverd.

    Eid ul Fitr is a big religious and social occasion for people of Islamic countries. This day is known as “Day of happiness and greetings”. Especially children will be found very excited to celebrate the Eid day. Every person, here in Pakistan celebrates this day without any discrimination of nation, community, color and tribes. But due to the flood crises here in Pakistan, millions of people are unable to celebrate day for displacement from their own houses and community.

    It is, therefore, society wants to celebrate eid day with flood affected children at Hyderabad. It is estimated the approximately 2000 flood affected Children will participle in Eid celebration, which are living with their parents in relief camps of Hyderabad to share the sorrows and happiness with displaced and flood affected children.
