Washington, DC : (29 June 2010) : Representatives of the Sindh and Baloch communities attended on Friday, June 25th a fundraising luncheon for Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) in Milwaukee, WI. Munawar Laghari, the Sindhi rights activist and the executive director of Sindhi monitor was also present at this luncheon in support of Senator Feingold’s reelection was the Vice President of America, the Honorable Mr. Joseph Biden.
Senator Feingold has served in the United States Senate for 16 years. He is a ranking member for the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Vice President Biden, prior to his role in the Executive Office, was a US Senator for 37 years. He was a Senior Member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
Supporters of Sindh were pleased to attend this event and to support Senator Feingold in his efforts towards stabilizing US-PK relations in a way benefiting the Sindhi people. To highlight the plight of the Sindhi people and the current state of unrest across the province, they posed a question to Vice President Biden requesting explanation as to why US tax payer dollars are going towards .. …, even though there is documented evidence of regional support of terrorism through bodies such as Al-Quida and the Taliban. The Vice President thanked the Sindhi representatives for bringing up this valuable point, and assured them that the White House was looking into these recent reports. …
