As one of my final assignments with the Oregon Marching Band, I was asked to make a short video to say thank you and farewell to our head football coach Chip Kelly. This is especially from the seniors in the band who have been around since Kelly first started coaching here.
As a result of his coaching, we were able to go to the Rose Bowl twice and the Fiesta Bowl twice (one of them was the BCS national championship).
Anyway, most of the footage was shot by me, and a few clips were pulled from archives of older performances. The song that is the background is the theme from “Gladiator”, which they always played during pregame when they made the “Win The Day” set.
I have been very fortunate to be in school when Chip Kelly stepped into the position. I’m sure my experiences would have been much different.
