WSC IS DEEPLY SHOCIKED AT THE SEDITION CHARGES AGAINST SINDHI NATIONALISTS
World Sindhi Congress, a leading Sindhi organisation working for the cause of human rights Of Sindh and Sindhis, is deeply concerned at the present government’s act of charging more than 350 leaders and activists of Jeeay Sindh Quomi Mahaz (JSQM) for sedition for delivering speeches on the 105th birth anniversary of the founder of the Jeeay Sindh Tehrik, Saeen G.M. Sayed on 17th January, 2009.
WSC considers freedom of expression as a fundamental human right and an accepted norm in a democratic society. Therefore the government’s above act is a denial of people’s fundamental human rights. A democratic government shouldn’t be afraid of people believing in and expressing different points of view. The best way to tackle the same is by reasoning and arguments and by trying to solve the issues in question and not by stopping people from speaking and expressing their views.
World Sindhi Congress requests the government to take back its charges against Sindhi nationalists and try to solve the problems affecting Sindh and Sindhi people
