ArtSnacks Snack-N-Draw LA

Yesterday my friend and I had the pleasure of attending the ArtSnacks meetup that happened at the Artist & Craftsman in Downtown LA! After being subscribed to ArtSnacks for the last few months, it was pretty cool to finally meet some other creators that also use the box.

How did we get here?

When I first saw this post on Instagram, I got excited, but then I wasn’t sure if I would want to go to LA. Truthfully, I don’t usually go to LA often. On account of 1. It’s far, and 2. The drivers up there are the worst! But when I shared it in my Instagram story, my friend @KoreanKutie reached out to me and said she’d be interested in going and so we bought our tickets and we carpooled our way up from San Diego!

The Snack N Draw Sesh

When we arrived, we were presented with a special ArtSnacks box and swag! Then we went to choose our little art station for the day. After checking out our spread, we started playing around with the art supplies.

We were then approached by @echo.ism and asked if she could sit with us! We had a nice started conversation, then she and I quickly realized we commented on each other’s Instagrams just earlier that week! She is such a kind and talented artist. I am so glad that we were able to meet in person!

We also met a lot of other great artists that day! Of course we were able to swap some Instagram handles and follows as well. It was so fun to see what everyone chose to create that day, and inspiring to see the different tools that they chose to use.

What was probably the coolest was being able to meet the founders of ArtSnacks, Lee and Sarah Rubenstein! They came around and chatted with everyone there, and checked out what we were working on. It was nice hearing their stories and being able to connect in such a casual setting.

Artist & Craftsman

After a little bit of snacking and drawing, we were encouraged to take a look around the store! If you’ve never been to an Artist & Craftsman, I highly encourage that you do! They are an employee-owned art supply store and have multiple locations across the US and are one of the biggest art materials suppliers. Their prices are very reasonable, and they have a bunch of high-quality supplies and brands. Be sure to check them out if you ever get the chance!

All in all, it was a great trip to LA and I’m so glad we made it. Here is a recap of the event created by Roxanne Coble! You’ll find my doodle right around the 4min mark.
