Spring is Here!

We’ve made it through the winter! Happy 1st day of spring everyone. Today my boyfriend and I took a trip to the Carlsbad flower fields. I’ve been waiting since August for this place to open back up, and thanks to El Niño the fields bloomed a little earlier. Needless to say, the fields were absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I haven’t seen so much natural color in one place before. There was about 50 acres of flowers to roam around in, and so a lot of the crowds of people got spread out. If I could, I would go back and sit there all day admiring the beauty.

A couple of weekends ago we went to the Cherry Blossom festival in Balboa Park. The crowds there were much more condensed, but I still managed to get some great photos. Cherry Blossoms’ lives are so fleeting, since they don’t last more than a few weeks. It made their appearance that much more special at the Japanese Friendship Garden.

Anyway, I just wanted to share the photos I captured at these two amazing gardens here in San Diego. I’m so excited that spring has arrived!
