What Causes Angina?

When heart doesn’t get as much blood as it needs, the result can be chest pain. Pain in the chest- called angina. The symptoms of angina can be similar to the symptoms of a heart attack.  If you think you may be having a heart attack, seek emergency medical help immediately. Angina is caused by a reduced flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle. This can happen when one or more of the arteries that go to heart become damaged, narrowed, or blocked. The most common reason is a results from a buid-up of fatty deposits that block the flow of blood through the coronary arteries.
