Pakistan is legging behind in education than it’s neighbouring countries

“It is disappointing to note that our country is legging behind in education even from our neighbouring countries, which shows lukewarm response of our governments of all times to the education in the country. It is crucial to take measures for educating and safeguarding children because if we fail to ensure good education, and protection to the child today we can not expect stable, peaceful and prosperous society tomorrow because child is the foundation of the society. Firm foundation is essential for fortified building”. This was stated by the girl students while speaking in speech competition on ” Education to child is like water to crop” held here by Knowledge Centre Larkana. It was presided over by panel of educationists Nawab Ali Khokhar and Prof. Mukhtiar Ahmed Samo.

Participating in the competition Sumbul Mahesar said that it was the triumph of education and enlightenment
ensued by it that a member of an erstwhile slave nation made his way to the presidency of the America.
Sumera Shaikh said that Good education to the children today is an effective way to fight terrorism because
education would not allow any subversive act to take place in future. Maha Jamali said that children were
raw-hand it was upto us what we made of them. They would become leaders if educated well or would become liability if ignored. Samrin Jagiran said that “Child withers without education as flower does without
water”. Education empowered the people if we wanted to be the nation of the empowered people we had to
educate our children today. In his presidential sermon Nawab Ali Khokhar said that it was the miracle of the
education that the nuclear mob ravaged country in second world war that was Japan had become the topper
in world technology today. History was witness that the nations had flourished when they had adopted
education as their life and soul. Prof. Mukhtiar Samo, Honorary Director of Knowledge Centre said that depriving child from education was crime. Our villages were not only the fields of green crops but they were also the nurseries of fertile minds but it was saddening to note that poverty, lawlessness and
scanty facilities of education there was depriving the children from education.

Uzma Lakho, Anam Memon, Aysaha Latif, Saima Mirani, Kainat Jakhro, Nosheen Lakho, Nazia Abro, Komal, Benazir Pathan and Bakhtawar Gurhmanai also spoke in the competition.

The first, second and third positions were secured by Zainab Jamali, Ambrin Shaikh, and Sania Shaikh
respectively.
