Rain brings smiles to Thar Desert people after three years of successive drought.

From the first week of July 09 heavy rains have been falling on the whole of Thar Desert in Sindh province of Pakistan. Soon after the rainfall people have started ploughing their land and sowing seeds of traditional crops of bajra (millet) and guwar (cluster beans) in all the four talukas of Thar.

Sindhis as a nation and a people have a time honoured tradition of supporting all the just causes. As far as Balouchistan is concerned, Sindhis have been with their Balouch brothers and sisters on every step of the way. Sindhi nation supported Balouchs during the 1970’s military operation and many suffered jails and other tortures.

KARACHI: Two activists of Jiye Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) were killed and several others injured as some unidentified persons opened indiscriminate fire at JSQM rally at D A Asphani Road, ARY NEWS reported on Friday. According to the police, JSQM workers Friday held protest rally against the killing of party worker some two weeks ago and demanded for arrest of the culprits.
