The comments are correct. G. M Kazi has given another versioin in Urdu Jang. Here he claimed that he is son in law of Late Jamal Nasir late president of Egypt and his wife has expired during captivity. Here he claimed that he was judge of Pindi High Court and was incasertated because he issued notices to wife of General Zia in a drug case.
G. M kazi is resident of a small village of Dadu with a modest education. He has been caught by police many a times in forgery cases. I think the BBC should immediately come out and correct its version so its reputation be saved from reporting such apocryphical story.
This is a classic case of deceit. This news has been appearing in national dailies under the caption “Ex-judge faces another adjournment” in national pages of dawn (15 June). On the similar subject matter also published reports “Former LHC judge serves 17 years despite acquittal” (30 January), “Probe ordered into judge’s detention’ (31 January) besides an editorial “Imprisoned in time” (5 February) also printed in this paper sympathizing with Dr Ghulam Mustafa Ismail Qazi, a former judge of Lahore High Court who has spent 17 years behind bars because his file had ‘disappeared’. These reports conveyed various details about “Dr” Ghulam Mustafa such as; he is PhD in Arabic and was married to an army captain, Dr Mubarika, who was killed in Siachen 18 years ago. Further that his only son, Mubarak, who was just one-and-a-half years old when Dr Qazi was arrested, had been left with no proper care and went missing after the death of his mother and incarceration of his father. His father Akhund Mohammad Ismail Qazi was also stated to have served as vice-chancellor of the Islamia University, Bahawalpur but later on inducted into the ministry of foreign affairs during the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto government and was appointed ambassador to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Except that Mr Ghulam Mustafa Qazi is in behind the bars since last 21 years in case of forgery, the rest of the particulars are not correct. Mr. G. M Qazi is a person of no eminence having some schooling from the schools of Dadu and Hyderabad. He is neither PhD scholar nor an ex-adhoc judge of the Lahore High Courtor Rawalpindi High Court. His marriage with a Captain of the Pakistan army is also a white lie. He is however married to a cousin from whom he has one daughter. His father Qazi Muhammad Ismail was a respected teacher who retired as a head master from primary school of Dadu and not VC or Ambassador as claimed in the reports. Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Qazi is incarcerated since 1989 because of his antisocial activities. He was finally caught in 1989 by CIA police Karachi while fororging the signatures of Aftab Shuban Mirani ex-chief Minster of Sindh record of which is available in the CIA Karahci and respective courts. The facts corrected above need to be published under all circumstance so as to remove the fallacious and incorrect information which has not only misguided the media and the courts but its uninterrupted circulating has created unwarranted sympathy for an accused of criminal charges in the public. BBC urdu service also entrapped in this false propaganda. I hope they should also issue correct version of the story.
