Geneva Seminar

Geneva , Switzerland . June 3, 2010. A roundtable and interactive dialogue on “The Independence of the Judiciary in Conflict Zones” was organized by the ‘International Human Rights Association of American Minorities’ and co-sponsored by IIFSO, WMC and IED during the 14th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The speakers included: Ms. Marie-Pierre Olivier, Senior Programme Lawyer, International Bar Association, England; Professor Alfred de Zayas, Public and International Law, Geneva School of Diplomacy & International Relations; Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Executive Director, Kashmiri American Council/Kashmir Center; Sardar Amjad Yousuf, Kashmir Institute of International Relations; Mr. Altaf Wani, Representative of APHC & Mr. Ishtiaq Hameed, representatives of APHC.

Dr. Fai emphasized that the people of Kashmir have been deprived of their non-derogable human rights including their right to life and liberty only because they demand the right of self-determination which was agreed upon here at the United Nations
