Endemic wildlife…

Marriot

This year the wildlife day will be celebrated under the theme “Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet.” An apt theme highlighting the importance of investing in people and the planet. Aitken Spence Travels as a leading destination management company in Sri Lanka has been focused on sustainable tourism practices as a responsible travel company.

The company recently collaborated with the Department of Wildlife Conservation to conduct several educational programs aimed at communities, focusing on the conservation, protection, and safety of both animals and humans. These activities were specifically targeted towards the central hills of Sri Lanka to mitigate leopard-human conflict. Additionally, the company has taken a significant step by becoming a foster parent to baby elephant Anagi at an elephant transit home , following the release of baby Bhanu into the wild. Further, the company has been actively involved in educating the next generation of multilingual tourist guides. By mentoring and conducting structured programs, they are preparing these guides to showcase the beauty of our country.

Wildlife conservation is not just a responsibility but a necessity for the survival of our planet. The balance of ecosystems relies heavily on the diverse species that inhabit them. It is important to implement effective conservation strategies and foster a global commitment to preserving the natural world. We encourage you to log into our social platform to explore the endemic wildlife of Sri Lanka.
