At Last!! The time has come for me to post pictures of my final project for Letterpress!!!
So, the reason I haven’t posted it on here is because I was scared that my parents would see it.
Why?
Because I decided to make something for their 25th anniversary (which was on May 31st)
It is a hard cover book that I hand-set, printed and bound completely by myself!
In total I had to make 5 copies, so it was a lot of work, but I’m really glad how it came out, so I can’t wait to show you what it looks like!
Of course, looking at it on here isn’t quite the same as holding it in your hand, but I’ll try my best to make something later that will give you the general idea of how it should look and feel.

So the book basically has 2 story lines going on. On one side there is small font that tells about an incident that happened and what kinda inspired me to make this book. Here’s what it says:
It was supposed to be a surprise. Dad bought this for her in March but their anniversary wasn’t until May. He wanted me to hide it before I went back to college and then in May I was supposed to ask her to look for the box, pretending that I forgot it, but instead find the rings. Then tax season arrived… Mom got frazzled when she couldn’t find the check register dad had hidden. To avoid further conflict we decided to go through with the plan even though it was 2 months early. However, it was unsuccessful. She was too upset to even read my text message asking to search for it! There was a lot of anger and confusion, but in the end she was brought to tears when my dad finally presented it to her.
On the other side there is another narrative, but it sort of flows more like a poem. This is what it said:
Dear Mom, I hope you can find this:
Inside is something special
Dad picked it out
3 rings to represent us kids
5 loops of diamonds for all of us
Silver for 25 years together
but why rings?
Rings are circles, which reach no end
just as love is forever
Well, like I mentioned earlier, it is a much different experience viewing it in person rather than on here, but here’s a glimpse of the work that I put into it, and I’m really glad how it came out.
My parents also liked it a lot!
So anyways, this project was a huge success!
I hope I can make more things like this in the future!
Thanks for stopping by to look!
what an awesome gift Kelli! straight from the heart 🙂
