KARACHI – The Sindh Education Department has decided that summer vacations will be observed in two months from July to August instead of June to July.
It is also decided that the female students will be awarded scholarships to enhance literacy rate among women segment of the society. Student politics in Pakistan has had a history of mixed fortunes and shades. Though extremely tumultuous, it is also a history of rich democratic traditions. Before student unions were banned by the Zia-ul-Haq dictatorship in 1984, their activities were conducted through regular annual elections in universities and colleges.
