Mumbai terror attack reminds us that we live in a New World Disorder forced to cope with terrorism just like any natural disaster. Although we can’t fight nature but we can defeat man made carnage if we heal the root cause and isolate few terrorists from many, who want to live in dignity and peace. Just remember, if you react emotionally, the terrorism wins.

Russian Warships Enter Venezuela

Caracas: Russian warships have sailed into a Venezuelan port in the first deployment of its kind in the Caribbean since the end of the Cold War. Thevessels were greeted by a 21-gun military salute on Tuesday at the start of a week of joint manoeuvres as Moscow and Caracas seek to strengthen their political and trade ties. The ships, including the nuclear powered cruiser Peter the Great and the destroyer Admiral Chabankenko, arrived at La Guaira, a port near to the capital Caracas, to coincide with a two day visit by Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian president. However, the move has been widely interpreted as a demonstration of the Kremilin’s anger at the US or both its plans to install a missile-defence shield in eastern Europe and its decision to send aid-laden warships to Georgia this summer. Russia and Georgia were briefly at war during August over the disputed independence of border states South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

The US administration played down any concerns over the joint show of force by two of its sharpest critics. Sean McGormack, the US state department spokesman, said: ” I don’t think there’s any qustion about.. who the region looks to in terms of political, economic, diplomatic and as well as military power. “If the Venezuelans and the Russians want to have a military exercise, that’s fine. But we’ll obisously be watching it very closely,” he said.

Opinion- Raising Taliban bogey, MQM prepares for massive bloodshed in Sindh

By Aziz Narejo, TX, USA

Taliban are coming! But what is the real agenda of MQM? Are they preparing for a massive bloodshed in Sindh to cause final blow to the unity of the province and the country? The civil society and the Government have to take notice before it is too late.

How come one of the major partners in the ” Britain is allowing Pakistani chief terrorist Altaf Hussain to use its land to launch terrorism in Pakistan?” Speak of double standards and hypocrisy!war on terror

(I know people are rightly preoccupied with events related dictator Musharraf’s impeachment but this is very important issue too and it should not be ignored).

MQM is known for terrorism, violence, use of force and its undemocratic, racist and fascist ways to establish its hold in the urban areas in Sindh. Who has forgotten Pakistani terrorist chief Altaf Hussain’s call to his followers in 1980s to sell TVs and VCRs and buy Kalashnikovs? People are witness what happened in Sindh in late 80s and 90s.

Thoughts for life

Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. When you say I love you, mean it. In disagreement, fight fairly. No name calling. Don’t judge people by their relatives. Talk slowly but think quickly. Remember that great achivements involve great risk. When you lose don’t lose lesson. When you realize you have made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship. When some one asks you a question you don’t want to answer, smile and ask, why do you want to know.

Pakistan is legging behind in education than it’s neighbouring countries

Report by: Prof. Mukhtiar Ahmed Samo, Larkana, mukhtiarsamo@yahoo.com

“It is disappointing to note that our country is legging behind in education even from our neighbouring countries, which shows lukewarm response of our governments of all times to the education in the country. It is crucial to take measures for educating and safeguarding children because if we fail to ensure good education, and protection to the child today we can not expect stable, peaceful and prosperous society tomorrow because child is the foundation of the society. Firm foundation is essential for fortified building”. This was stated by the girl students while speaking in speech competition on ” Education to child is like water to crop” held here by Knowledge Centre Larkana. It was presided over by panel of educationists Nawab Ali Khokhar and Prof. Mukhtiar Ahmed Samo.

Due to the anti-Sindhi media, Sindhis have been defamed and suffered a lot

By: Munwar Soomro, USA

Nobody can undermine the importance of media and propaganda. It’s to great extent due to the anti-Sindhi media that Sindhies have been defamed and suffered a lot. There is no representation and say of Sindhi people in Pakistan from any platform specially talking about media. It is world media which shapes the thinking and direction of people and also guides them what to do. Letting them know what to do and what not.

Some thoughts of men

Thought 1: When we are born, our mothers get the compliments and the flowers. When we are married, our brides get the presents and the publicity. When we die, our widows get the life insurance. What do women want to be liberated from?

Thought 2: The average man’s life consists of : Twenty years of having his mother ask him where he is going, Forty years of having his wife ask the same question; and at the end, the mourners wondering too.
Thought 3: A Man was walking down a street when he heard a voice from behind, “If you take one more step, a brick will fall down on your head and kill you.” The man stopped and a big brick fell right in front of him. The man was
astonished. He went on, and after a while he was going to cross the road. Once again the voice shouted, “Stop! Stand still! If you take one more step a car will run over you, and you will die.” The man did as he was instructed,
just as a car came careening around the corner, barely missing him. The man asked. “Who are you?” “I am your guardian angel,” the voice answered. “Oh, yeah?” the man asked “And where the hell were you when I got married?”

This is the best!!! Thought 4

Sindhis throughout the history

Sindhis throughout history have battled imperialist invaders, whether these were Arabs, Arghuns, Mughals, or others… none found it easy to conquer Sindh. Many had to make several attempts. ..the story of the valiant defence of Sindh during the Soomra period against Allauddin Khliji and Sama period against the imperialist Feroz Shah who suffered three humiliating defeats at the hands of Sindhis. He finally succeeded because of natural catastrophe, if only to see his own kingdom in ruins due to his obsession of conquering Sindh. Unfortunately, textbooks in Sindh after partition praise every imperialist invader and don’t teach much about native history and their patriotic defense of motherland Sindh throughout history…

Vitamin B12: DID YOU KNOW?

You May Need a B12 Supplement

If you are 40 or older, you may need B12 supplement. B12 is essential for cell replication and red blood cell production. The acid in your stomach releases vitamin B12 from the meat you eat. The vitamin then binds to a substance called intrinsic factor that enables B12 to be absorbed into the bloodstream. Up to one-third of older adults prodce inadequate amounts of stomach acid and therefore can no longer properly absorb B12 from food. Vitamin B12 absorbs and works well with other B vitamins therefore take it with other B vitamins. Eat washed green leafy and colorful vegetables and fruits, dirnk 8 to 12 glasses clean fresh water.

Reflecting what happening in Sindh

By Majid Maqsood, Sindh
It’s not a fault of Sindhi media, if things are negative, it can’t be shown positive and media has to portray what has been happening in Sindh. Honor killing, unavailability of medicines resulting hundred of lives. It doesn’t mean that media showing or addressing non issues. These are the true issues of Sindh. I have been criticizing on Sindhi media but not on current affairs but things which are being shown to nation on the name culture is not exactly a culture of Sindh but it has badly impacted on Sindhi society…

Those who dumped all the money into the war have been defeated

Obama won and those who were ruining the US economy and the economy and peace of the world, those who dumped all the money into the war have been defeated. Where are the WMD? The war that Bush and company started? I think the very least we can expect from Mr Obama is that he will not waste American and third world lives for a publicity stunt. The best way to run the presidency is to think “what would Bush do in a situation like this” and then do the exact opposite.

Greenspan thought that the self interest of the corporations and individuals working in them would guard against any disastrous failures within the system (that they would mostly take proportionate risks). But he recently admitted that he was wrong and that in a de-regulated system the greed of corporations and individuals could become limitless (particularly when they are dealing with other people’s money).

Thus the greed lead to: 1) excessive risk taking, which is rewarded in the system by bonuses, 2) and also the blind faith that house prices could go up only, 3) also the loans were sold several times over (in the form of securities / derivatives – which not many understood how they were packaged) such that the buyers down the line did not even know what the risks were, 4) when the loans proved to be bad because of over-supply of housing units and falling house prices in the USA , they started to bring the system down like house of cards, 5) thus the governments had to absorb those loans though bailing out and capitalization (part-nationalizati on) due to the importance of the institutions involved, 6) even this has not lead to adequate thawing of the frozen credit (leading to businesses struggling for short term loans), 7) thus the recession / depression is about to dawn
