Tharparkar at Glance- By Dharmoon Bhawani

No one has realized what we have done in the past, when we were in the state of childhood. Some time love of past makes us cry, tears come into our eyes, jut like a drop of rain form the sky with shower. Those things that we used to hate are now the inevitable part of our life, are always in front of us like a dancing shadows, as if they are alive. Perhaps Shakespeare is right in his saying that “The more you hate, the more I love you.”

Pleasures are nothing, but the compensation of hardships for time being. As life is full of challenges, and because of hardships smiles comes on lips of dejected person, who thinks of past, takes it as world of his past that is snatched form him the ferocious claws of past. Kabir says “Gru will go according to his doings, the disciple according to his”

Likely poverty has its own sharp claws, with piercing nock into the flash of poor people. As we know that sufferings are the part of our life. These wounds which are incurable are not given by our enemies, but our own friends, relatives, colleagues. Though I dwell in the desert, but I would never forget the dunes of desert, where it lived with my past. Where I used to enjoy past in the time of childhood to youth. Kabir says “The flower blooms form the fruit, when the fruit comes, the flower withers”

All friends are now miles and miles away from me, engaged in their own business, chasing after their own dreams, which they have nourished in their bosom. So they are doing successful effort in getting their fame and name in the world of cut-throat competition. The face, that was once a moon, now lives somewhere the place I don’t know.

Kabir says “Oh companion that abode is unmatched where complete beloved is”

Struggle never ends, it goes on. Once we were child desired to reach the destination that was hundred miles far from us, that was somewhere on the moon, my grand mother used to tell myth that look! Above in the sky, on the moon there is women, week and nimble having gripped hands in the Ghurti (grinding machine), we enjoyed in listening those myths; now these myths are no more myths but realities.

In the vast open sky, in the small dunes of desert you will number of being wandering in search truth of life that is much difficult to understand for an ordinary man. Your will find peace and tranquility in the vast desert, free from the rashness of life. In the morning somewhere in the remote village your will hear the melodious voice of peacock, that shows the symbol of dawn, or you will hear jingling of bells, or the tattering of birds in the trees or the scorching rays in the Chaunra from the tiny space among the straw that is laid on the upper part of hut/Chaunra.

Past that is our inevitable part and we can detach from us, because it has become imbibed in our veins? Like life in Thar as compared to last three decades is much different, especially in the field of development. The concept of development comes in a sense that there is hallmark change in the pattern of thinking in their life. It is a land where people live in peace.

But few are still at the brink of disaster; death is hovering over their heads. Where as some village are still lacking basic amenities of life, and they are the major suffered population. But even then there is harmony in the life of common men.

Change is a slow process, it need decades in completion of this. No matter it comes step by step, after a long period of time, which is uncountable, but it is only measure through the graduates of improvement in the standards of the life of common men.

The majority of population is till living in the hamlet/small villages in the patches of desert. Some migrate to the barrage areas in the time of drought for meeting the basic necessities of life. While they are still living in the shadow of natural life, using traditional practices for curing their beloved ones. Still they sing a song and Bhujan in the evening and morning for the love of music, and the strings of their hearts vibrate on these songs which are full of joy and merriment. They are more near to nature as compared to the people who are living in the thickly populated cities, having chaos and chaos in their life form the dawn to dusk, nothing else, search for job, working long and never ending days, the bills of stores and load shedding and much more.

These people are more simple, meek and mild in their attitude. They are far forming the clutches of upcoming problems of city life. They sit in silent, beside the Bhit/Dune, in the moon lit night sing a cheerful song with the help of Tanboora that makes their own world. Or in the moon season they sit on lush green patches, waving sticks in their hand, Chung tightly hold in their teeth and produce an inertly voice form the kingdom of love.
