Three women forced to parade naked in Punjab

PAKISTAN: The ritual abuse and naked humiliation of three women casts

Received via email – faheem_yas@yahoo.com

The violent humiliation of three women reported from Punjab this week has thrown stark light on the complicity of the police and the courts in gender-based crimes — and on the continued degeneration of law enforcement in the region. This week three woman accused of prostitution were forced to parade naked through their neighborhood and onto a local highway; they were stripped and physically tormented under the direction of a man who leads a banned militant organisation.

Islam started as soon as we fled from Malakand. People outside Swat think we had Islam and Shariat. There is no Islam in Swat. The Taliban have finished it.

Where does one begin to tell you what they have been saying? It is difficult to explain because it is difficult for some of us to believe, to understand, and at times, even to empathise with. Between their rage and their tears, between giving each other solace and laughing at lighter moments, they opened up to talk to us. They shall not be named but they shall be heard by all of us today.

Pakistan, India & Bangladesh : South Asian train service proposal

Pakistan’s nod for South Asian train service proposal

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Railways Ministry has “technically approved” an Indian proposal to launch a South Asian train service linking Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan and forwarded it to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Commerce for further evaluation. The proposal was floated by the Indian Railways two weeks ago, the Dawn quoted officials as saying. Experts had acknowledged the potential of the South Asian route and they see it as “more easy to operate,” the officials said. The three countries have broad gauge tracks and their operating systems are similar. Officials of the Railways Ministry said experts had suggested that the Dhaka-Delhi-Lahore train service was “viable in all respects.” The service could be extended to Karachi or Islamabad if the need arose, they said. “The initial trials would be container operations followed by passenger services,” said a report prepared by experts. The Indian proposal came in the backdrop of reports that the Economic Cooperation Organization planned to launch an Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul train service.

Let there be no confusion regarding Eid moon

Calculations, or Follow Saudi, or Moon sighting

by Prof. Gul Agha, USA

..Since the cycles of the moon are easy to compute, it seems silly to rely on sightings. However, even with the use of astronomical calculations, it is not the case that the celebration would fall on the same day in every country, as I recall the rule used is that the sighting should be within some small interval after sundown (someone may have more precise knowledge about this), and this will vary over time zones which are spread over a 24 hour cycle that the earth takes for its rotation. Someone would have to change that rule (and many Islamic theological interpretations would not allow anyone to do that)…

Islam the Religion of Peace

Islam is a total surrender and obedience to God, called Allah in Islam. Muhammad (P.B.U.H) was born in Makkah, in 570 A.D. Orphaned at a very young age, raised by his uncle, Hazrat Abu Talib, and was recognized early for his wisdom, generosity and honesty.  Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) after time to time had went to the cave of Hira, near the “Mountain of Light” near Makkah. He was forty years old when, the Angel Gabriel appeared to him and delivered the first of what would become twenty-three years’ worth of revelations from God. Those revelations, given to Muhammad (P.B.U.H)  by God through the Angel Gabriel, became the miracle of the book called Holy Quran. Muhammad (P.B.U.H) passed away at the age of 63. Within a hundred years of his death, Islam had spread throughout Europe, and across Asia as far east as China. In Islam, the Bible, Torah, Christians and Jews deserve the respect and protection of all Muslims. The same respect and protection was extended to Buddhists of India and realized that, contrary to their first impression, the Buddhists and the Hindus weren’t idol-worshippers after all.

Muslims have a particular respect for Jesus, and never say His name without adding the “Hazrat/ Hadrat/ Peace Be upon Him” as sign of Respect.

The Holy book of Islam, the Quran refers to the perfect birth of Christ, acknowledges his miracles and his second coming. Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) himself said: Whoever believes there is no God but Allah, alone without partner, that Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is his messenger, that Jesus is a servant and messenger of God, his worth breathed into Mary and a spirit emanating from him, and that Heaven and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven.

What’s going on?

A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the intersection. Nothing is moving.
Suddenly a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls down his window and asks, ‘What’s going on?’
The man replied,’Terrorists down the road have kidnapped George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. They’re asking for a $100 million ransom. Otherwise they’re going to douse them with gasoline and set them on fire. We’re going from car to car, taking up a collection.’
The driver asks, ‘How much is everyone giving, on average?’
‘Most people are giving about a gallon

Description- URDU/Hindi: Pakistani TV hosts Mr Mubashir Luqman discusses the recent persecution against Ahmadi Muslims where Pakistan Punjab Police erased Kalima from Ahmadiyya mosque and other Islamic inscriptions from Ahmadi houses. Father, son and the donkey!

Folk story>> A man and his son along with their donkey were going through a jungle .

Suddenly they were accosted by a person who said ,’ Both of you are walking along with your donkey . At least one of you should ride the donkey.’

Hearing this , the father put his son on the donkey .

After sometime, they met another person ,who said to the son ‘,Imagine a young man riding a donkey while the father walks behind .Shame on you .’

Hearing this , the father asked the son to get down and mounted the donkey himself .

After some time they met another person , who said ,’Your donkey is strong enough to carry both of you . Why walk in the sun ?’

So the father asked his son also to ride the donkey .

After some time they met another person who said, ‘Imagine both of you riding a poor donkey. Shame on you ,’

This time , the father did not know what to do

That is life . You can’t please one and all. Listen to all, think it over but decide yourself what to do. Anyway, whatever you do, it is okay by me, only don’t carry the donkey.

LEADERSHIP TEST!!

While visiting India, George Bush is invited to tea with the Abdul Kalam. He asks Kalam what his leadership philosophy is. He says that, it is to surround himself with intelligent people. Bush asks how he knows! if they’re intelligent. “I do so by asking them the right questions,” says the Kalam. “Allow me To demonstrate.” Bush watches as the kalam phones Manmohan Singh and says,

“Mr.Prime Minister, please answer this question: your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister.

Who is it?”

Manmohan immediately responds, “It’s me, Sir !.” “Correct. Thank you and good-bye, sir,” says the Kalam. He hangs up and says, “Did you get that, Mr. Bush?” Bush nods: “Yes Mr. President. Thanks a lot. I’ll definitely be using that!” Bush, upon returning to Washington, decides he’d better put the Condoleeza Rice to the test. Bush summons her to the White House and says, “Condoleeza, I wonder if you can answer a question for me.”

“Why, of course, sir. What’s on your mind?” Bush poses the question: “Uhh, your mother has a child, and your! father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?” Rice was puzzled and finally asks, “Can I think about it and get back To you?” Bush agrees, and Rice leaves. Rice immediately calls a meeting of senior senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours, out nobody can come up with an answer. Finally, in desperation, Rice calls Colin Powell and explains the problem.

“Mr. Powell, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?”

Powell answers immediately, “It’s me, of course.” Much relieved, Rice rushes back to the White House, finds George Bush, and exclaims, “I know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It’s our Colin Powell!”

And Bush replies in disgust, “Wrong, you Jackass, its Manmohan Singh!”

Are you an apple or a pear shape?

Did you know that a lot of people have a body shape that falls into one of two groups? The easiest way to find out where you fit in is to think of yourself as either an apple or a pear- both are sweet, but it’s the shape that matters! 1. If most of your weight is in the buttocks and hip area, you are a pear. 2. If you gain more weight around your stomach, you’re an apple shape. It’s good to be more of a pear than apple. Carrying too much weight around your waist can be a warning sign. No matter which shape you are, remember that making healthy food choices and getting plenty of physical activity can help you control your weight- and your cholesterol. Eat fresh raw vegetable and colourful fruits and half an hour walk every day.
